The Great Arctic Air Adventure
In 2008, Seattle residents Doug DeVries and Mark Schoening flew their iconic Canadian-built deHavilland Beaver bush planes on a challenging circumnavigation of Canada through the Northwest Passage. The journey, flown entirely on floats, covered 12,000 miles in six weeks and was shot on HD cameras by Oscar-nominated Director of Photography, Eric Thiermann and by photographer Jim Clark. Storyteller Communications LLC is working with Doug and Mark to produce the feature-length documentary of this remarkable venture. Expected completion is late 2010. More Information

Hangar Dance Gala
To Celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress. Storyteller Communications LLC in partnership with Modern Enterprises LLC produced the Hangar Dance Gala for Seattle's Museum of Flight on June 12, 2010. We transformed the Clay Lacy Aviation Hangar at Boeing Field into a dinner theater to accommodate 1,000 guests and the Boeing Bee, the Museum's B-17. The celebration included a fly-by of P-51 Mustangs and a B-25 Mitchell bomber prior to the show. The tribute to the B-17 honored B-17 engineers and builders including a couple of "Rosie the Riveters," World War 2 fighter pilots who provided combat support, and nearly 25 former B-17 combat crew members and pilots. The tribute included a 21-minute documentary produced by Storyteller President Doug Tolmie and edited by Dan Ibabao and featured an introduction from former NBC Nightly News Anchor, Tom Brokaw. A battle of the bands between the Harry James and Jimmy Dorsey Orchestras concluded an unforgettable and enriching evening.

God Wink Gathering
In August 2009, we documented a unique gathering of distinguished veterans from five different wars who came together to share their stories and common bonds. Facilitated and hosted by Phil Smart, Sr. who served with General George S. Patton in North Africa, this gathering featured veterans who came together through a series of coincidences and what Phil called "God Winks." Among the veterans in attendance were George Patton "Pat" Waters who serves on the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation Board and is the grandson of General George Patton, Phil's 1937 Roosevelt High School classmate Ralph Jenkins who flew 129 missions as a P-47 Thunderbolt fighter-bomber pilot in Europe and who is credited with severely wounding Field Marshall Erwin Rommel (Patton's arch-enemy) during a mission in July 1944, three Vietnam veterans who served with Special Forces, and a woman, Tara Rego, who earned a Bronze Star while serving in Somalia. The DVD of the "God Wink Gathering" was so well received that a copy was provided to each of the 95 surviving recipients of the Congressional Medal of Honor.
Behind the Badge Foundation
Behind the Badge Foundation supports the families of law enforcement officers killed or catastrophically injured in the line of duty and maintains the Washington State Law Enforcement Memorial in Olympia. A video we produced telling the stories of three officers who lost their lives in the line of duty and that honors Bruce and Jolene McCaw for their extraordinary service to the organization will be shown at the annual fundraising Gala at the Seattle Four Seasons Hotel on October 24th.
